1) During this school year, uniform dress days will be held on every other Tuesday (Hybrid A and 5-day), every other Friday (Hybrid B), and every other Thursday (E-learners); if not otherwise changed by a JROTC instructor. On JROTC dress days, the uniform is to be worn the entire day (except E-learners). The only time the uniform may be taken off is for physical education (PE) classes or agriculture field activities held outside of the classroom. The uniform should be taken off right after these classes begin and put back on when the class is over. If PE class is held first period, the cadet will not be required to wear the uniform to school, and if PE class is held during the last period of the day, the cadet is not required to dress again in the uniform. Any cadet who is found not wearing their uniform during the day will not receive academic credit for the dress-out. Thus, a cadet who was dressed for the uniform inspection and is later observed not wearing the uniform will receive a zero.
2) If a cadet needs permission not to wear the uniform on the designated uniform day or needs to take the uniform off for some reason during the day, the cadet must coordinate with an instructor before that day and provide a valid reason.
3) If absent on a uniform day, cadets will be required to wear the uniform on the next day they return to school during that week. To receive credit, cadets must appear before an instructor or their Company Commander and request to be inspected. Only then will their grade be adjusted. If absent the entire school week, the cadet must coordinate with their instructor on the day of their return to school to make up the uniform dress-out. If the first day of their return is on a uniform dress day, they will not receive credit for the prior week’s dress-out.
4) Proper uniform wear extends to after school hours as well as off campus. Cadets who do not wear the uniform properly after the last school bell or even during their walk home will be held accountable. Remember, all eyes are on you when wearing the uniform and it must be worn with pride and respect at all times. Just because the school day has ended and you are off campus, you are still responsible to wear the uniform properly.
5) Lastly, you will be held financially responsible to the United States Army for maintaining and accounting for your uniform items. If these items are lost or not returned in good condition, excluding wear and tear, at the end of the school year or upon separation from JROTC, you will be expected to reimburse the Army in accordance with its established depreciated rates.
